Casinomeister ®: Advocate of Fair Play Since 1998

This is the Ontario Zone for our Casinomeister Accredited Casinos. Since the iGaming Ontario (iGO) licensing dictates what we show you concerning casinos licensed by them – this is pretty much a bare bones website – and this is what you’re going to get. We aren’t allowed to mention bonuses, or promotions, or anything that you might enjoy – we have to leave it up to the casino properties to give you all of that information. But what I can say is that all the casinos listed here are 100% above board, have been listed as a Casinomeister Accredited casino for years, and are all licensed in Ontario. So enjoy.

unibet ontario

Unibet has been around for donkey years, and the amount of complaints we have received about them I could count on one hand. Players love Unibet – and I appreciate them for being an upstanding, solid-as-a-rock casino that offers folks everything under the sun pertaining to online gambling: casino games, sports, poker, you name it. I would recommend them to my closest friends.

Slots Magic Casino

When Slots Magic was first launched, they were branded Jackpot Party – well the party didn’t last and they renamed themselves Slots Magic – which was primarily focused on the UK market. They were founded in February 2014 – tested by our members and Accredited by us in November 2014. Since then, there have hardly been any issues or complaints about them – I would recommend them to my closest friends.

Sports Interaction Casino

Sports Interaction Casino has been listed as a Casinomeister Accredited Casino for nearly two decades and have always been based in Canada. The SIA crew are some of the most professional folks in the business. They run a stellar operation, and over the past several years we have received nearly zero complaints about their casino and sportsbook. Not many casinos can boast of that. Now they are licensed by iGaming Ontario. I would recommend them to my closest friends.

LeoVegas Casino

I have always been impressed with the amount of games this casino hosted. I used to play there quite a bit up to a couple of years ago. They have a pretty good reputation in our forum, and the membership seems to really appreciate them.

Royal Panda Casino

Royal Panda was once really good – now they are “meh”. They have been Accredited at Casinomeister for about ten years – they hit a couple of speedbumps by ignoring some player complaints, but they came to an agreement to be more cooperative, thus keeping their Accreditation status at Casinomeister.

Jackpot City Casino

Jackpot City Casino used to be an excellent casino. In fact we had listed them in Casinomeister’s reputable casinos listings for years until they were sold off to another casino group, and then they just turned into just another Microgaming cloned casino and went to pasture. But even so, you might find something of interest there. I can’t mention any bonuses or promotions for these guys, so please visit their site to find out what they are currently offering.

Royal Vegas Casino

Royal Vegas Casino is in the same trailer park as Jackpot City. It’s a relatively good casino – it’s pretty solid and we don’t receive many complaints about them these days. Check them out and have a go. I am not sure what sort of promotions that they are having now. And even if I did, I am not allowed to mention them here – I just might get in trouble. LOL

Spin Casino

From the same folks who brought you Royal Vegas, here is Spin Casino. I think they have different bonuses and promotions as their brethren, but due to the iGaming Ontario policies, I am not allowed to discuss these – they might bend my dog tags and stamp my meal card with “no dessert”! Ha ha. But seriously folks, bonus or no bonus, this casino is actually pretty good. We have zilch formal complaints at Casinomeister, and they are pretty solid. Give them a go in Ontario!!

Ruby Fortune Casino

Ruby Fortune Casino was first listed as an reputable casino at Casinomeister in May of 2003. Solid as a rock and nary a complaint, you should not have any issues with these guys. True – they are in the same group as Jackpot City Casino, and they seem to be on autopilot for us – but maybe not for you. Ruby Fortune has always been a well run organisation, and I am sure their Ontario branch would be as well.

Ontario Gambling Jurisdiction

Big changes have occurred in Ontario with the government officially launching a new regulated online gaming market – and this allows players in Ontario to play at online casinos and bet at sports betting websites legally.

What is iGaming Ontario?

iGaming Ontario (iGO) is a subsidiary of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission (AGCO) and they’re responsible for regulating all forms of the online casino and online gambling market in Ontario.

They’re basically the regulator – like we see from the UK’s Gambling Commission and the Maltese Gaming Authority – and they’re responsible for issuing online gambling licenses, regulating those to whom they’ve issued a license, and ensuring that any issues and complaints are handled.

They’re also responsible for working directly with the federal government to discuss and, where relevant, modify online gambling laws and regulations. They state that they’ll be taking a ‘very active’ position in the continued regulation of online gaming in Ontario.

What is a Regulated iGaming Market?

While every country and jurisdiction has a slightly different definition when it comes to regulation, generally speaking, a regulated iGaming market means that there’s a centralized (usually a government-appointed body) that’s responsible for regulating all forms of online gaming in that country, state or region.

This online gambling regulator is responsible for issuing online gambling licenses, working with the government to discuss/modify online gambling legislation and ensuring that players are able to gamble safely – without the online gambling operators taking advantage of the players.

Some online gambling operators are seen as more reputable than others; for example, the UK’s Gambling Commission (while often accused of taking their responsibilities TOO far) is widely regarded as the world’s most reputable online gambling regulator. They don’t hesitate to take action against firms that are failing to adhere to the terms and conditions of their online gaming license, and they’re incredibly player-focused.

Then, you’ve got online gambling regulators like Curacao. They award online gambling licenses like pieces of candy and – for the most part – take little to no action against operators who’re operating in a rogue manner – sometimes even illegally.

For example, numerous websites licensed in Curacao have been found to be running fake or pirated versions of games – and the regulator hasn’t (visibly) taken action against any of these rogue operators.

iGaming Ontario will be the online gambling regulator in Ontario – so it’s their responsibility to carry out all tasks surrounding regulation when it comes to online casino websites and sports betting platforms in the province.

What Websites are Currently Regulated?

iGaming Ontario maintains a current and up-to-date list of all of the online casino websites and sports betting sites that are currently regulated. This can be found here

At the time of writing, some big-name brands have already received approval to operate in Ontario; this includes 888, FanDuel, Bet365, Rush Street Interactive, Rivalry, theScore and PointsBet.

When it comes to game developers and software providers, suppliers including High 5 Games, Play’n Go and Inspired Entertainment have already been approved to work with licensed operators.

As the new Ontario online gambling laws have only recently been brought in, this list is going to change significantly in the near future. Because of this, you may find that iGaming Ontario sets up a new webpage – so it’s worth keeping an eye on things as you’ll be able to find more up-to-date lists of the available websites where you can play casino games at their website.

Why You Should Avoid Unregulated Operators

According to iGaming Ontario, players should avoid unlicensed online gambling regulators for a number of reasons. First and foremost; there’s no guarantee that deposits are securely stored. Online gambling operators that aren’t regulated in Ontario don’t have to stick to strict rules surrounding the protection of player funds.

The commission also warns that players have no guarantee of being paid out; or, in instances where an unlicensed site does payout, they may ‘delay’ payouts. Thirdly, iGaming Ontario states that personal information could be exposed to third parties – or even the public – without your consent. This is likely down to the fact that iGaming Ontario has strict rules surrounding data protection.

It’s quite clear, from glancing at the iGaming Ontario website that they’re very against players playing at non-iGaming Ontario regulated casinos; whether this will be enough to keep players from gambling at online casinos licensed in other jurisdictions remains to be seen.
